In the Spring of 2011, Todd and Alex dreamed up the idea of WayForward Adventures. They wanted to create a first class experience that took adults into the mountains for a week of self-discovery with a group of their friends, for the sole purpose that they would return home and live out more effectively who God created them to be.



Todd Pinkston - CEO

Todd brings 10 years of experience in adventure ministry. Beginning in 2005, he has served as guide, Base Camp Coordinator and Speaker/Trainer for Young Life’s Wilderness Ranch. He has a Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He brings 12 years of ministry experience, most recently as the Area Director for Young Life in Richardson, Texas. Todd is married to Erin and they have a daughter named Hadley. In the offseason, Todd speaks a churches, men's retreats and trains leaders on maximizing their impact. Book Todd for your next event.

Elijah Mckinney - INTERn

Elijah spent the summer of 2016 with WayForward Adventures guiding seven trips and maintaining all gear. He brings five years of ministry experience with two of those years involving adventure ministry. He graduated from Texas A&M University (Whoop!) in May 2016 with a degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. Elijah grew up in Richardson, Texas with his two brothers and his mother and enjoys fitness, sports, music, and riding his bicycle.



Katy began with WayForward Adventures in Summer 2016 serving as the Base Camp Cook. She brings five years of ministry experience to the team with two of those years working as the Volunteer Coordinator for a non-profit in Bryan, TX called Still Creek Ranch. She graduated from Texas A&M in December 2014 with a degree in Psychology. 


Todd & Erin Pinkston

With over 20 years of combined ministry experience, the Pinkstons are excited to spend their summers in the mountains and see God work on the trail through WayForward trips.

Alex & Christyn Knoop

Alex brings more than 11 years of experience in adventure ministry. He holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Texas and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Acton School of Business. Alex has a passion for developing young adults into disciples that understand how to live out their faith in the workplace. Alex is married to Christyn and they have a daughter, Emily. 


Bill & Becky Strahan

After selling their software company in 2013, Bill & Becky were looking to create an organization that would have lasting impact on people's lives. Bill went on a backpacking trip with Alex & Todd that summer and after sharing his experience with Becky, she replied..."we should do this!" They started WayForward Adventures in the fall of 2013.
